Consortium receives funding for data exchange in immunology

We are very excited to announce, that the NFDI4Immuno has been funded to create a unified repository for immunological data in Germany as part of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI).

The consortium will build data repositories specific for immunological data, which comes from a variety of sources, including next-generation sequencing of immune receptors and analysis of the immune system using flow cytometry. This data will be made available to researchers across Germany and the world, helping them to better understand the immune system and its role in health and disease.

The data repositories for immunological data, we will enable better definition of the immune system in healthy individuals which in turn will improve discovery of disease relevant immune features. The data made available through the repositories will also improve machine learning models and potentially change diagnostics.

The consortium is coordinated from Heidelberg and researchers involved in the consortium covers areas like medicine, bioinformatics, tumour research and zoonoses. The Babel Lab is very much looking forward to build the future of the research infrastructure in German together with our fantastic colleagues.
